You are advised to read these Terms carefully. Any new features or tools that are added to the current store or our other websites shall also be subject to these Terms of Service. The most current version of the Terms of Service can be reviewed on this page at any time. We reserve the right to update, change, or replace any part of these Terms of Service by posting updates and/or changes to our website. It is your responsibility to check this page periodically for changes. Your continued use of or access to the website following the posting of any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.

The headings used in this agreement are included for convenience only and will not limit or otherwise affect these Terms.

The school & students within are bound by our policies. Should any of these terms contradict our policies, the policies shall take precedence.

Section 2 - SERVICE, ENROLMENT & SIGN UP
Section 2a – Online school/homeschooling classes
The school offers "homeschooling classes" which follow the academic school year, typically mirroring traditional face-to-face schooling. This service includes live lessons, recordings of those live lessons, a platform for sharing of material and information, as well as any additional support platforms needed.

Enrolment in classes is accepted for the duration of the UK school year (see term dates for additional details). Enrolment is normally accepted only for the full school year or the remaining part of the school year and is only confirmed after payment has been made. Late or partial enrolment may be accepted at the school’s discretion; discounts may apply for any missed time. However, as students have access to recordings of prior lessons, any discounts offered are at the sole discretion of the school. To enrol, an enrolment form must be completed; upon acceptance, a deposit (typically 10% of the total fees) is required to confirm the enrolment. Students will receive information necessary to get started shortly before the course start date and be informed about remaining payments as specified in our payment terms below.

Section 2b – private lessons
Additionally, we provide private lessons, which are individually booked customised sessions occurring primarily on a one-to-one basis (student & teacher), although small groups are also possible for private lessons.
Private lessons can be booked directly on the website or by contacting the school, with no formal application process required. Available timeslots for private lessons are booked on a first-come, first-served basis. Further information relating to specific private lessons is available on the website.

Section 2c – trialling the services
The school offers a 7-day free trial, (5 school-days and a weekend) for homeschooling classes but reserves the right to modify or withdraw this offer at any time. Trials usually start on a Monday, with access being given late the Friday afternoon before. As part of the service, students are also granted access to the Moodle platform and a complimentary IXL subscription, as well as any platforms teachers choose to use. Students are not required to purchase any additional platforms or material but are of course welcome to do so.

Section 2d – Technical requirements, equipment and additional purchases
Students require access to a device that can access the internet as well as run basic software, such as a browser, Zoom and word processing software. A smart phone, albeit capable, is not recommended due to its small screen. The school recommends a laptop or tablet. Please note a tablet or chrome OS based device may have limited functionality in terms of screen annotations or additional software required in computer science classes.
The school recommends a mid-range Windows or Mac laptop or desktop device. Students may use headphones or headsets if their device does not have an inbuilt speaker and microphone.
Further students should sit in a quiet area to avoid excessive background noise. If a student’s background is noisy and disrupting the class, students may be muted by teachers or if otherwise disruptive may be removed from a lesson according to the behaviour policy.
All necessary material is provided and students are not usually required to buy anything additional, other than pens and stationery. It can be useful to have a printer and scanner.

In some circumstances teachers may require students to purchase a textbook or a set text for exams (e.g. a required novel). While the school tries to provide all material, some required material may not be available unless purchased by a student. Usually a calculator is needed and teachers may recommend a specific brand/type so that the necessary functions are available.
Section 2e – Report cards
By default, parents opt out of receiving report cards due to all grade and progress information being provided on the platform. At the end of the school year, when a student leaves or when required, a report card can be provided upon request; however, if the request for the report card is made more than six months after leaving the school, the school is not obligated to address any concerns regarding listed grades or make adjustments. A report card can be requested anytime, however if the student has only been with the school a short time or not submitted sufficient assignments, a grade may not be given.

Grades for reports are determined by homework submissions. Teachers set a number of assignments throughout the year, which ones submitted are graded. Deadlines for assignments are a guide to keep students on track, but late submissions are allowed without penalty. If students do not submit an assignment, this will be graded as 0. Students can usually resubmit assignments graded under 50%, occasionally assignments with better grades, including missed assignments. Whether a resubmission is allowed is up to the teacher to decide.

Section 2f – Access to Moodle platform
Students receive access to the Moodle platform while students at the school. Once left, access will be revoked immediately. This also applies to all other platforms given as part of the school’s services.

Section 3 - CANCELLATION POLICY
Our cancellation policy varies depending on the type of course or class. For homeschooling classes, cancellation can occur within 14 days of your purchase or the start of the course, whichever is later. Upon cancellation, you are entitled to a refund within 30 days of your notice; however, please note that deposits for holding your place, as well as any used lessons, may be retained. Additionally, you are required to delete any files provided by the school and not retain any course materials.

Once the initial 14-day "cooling-off period" has passed, cancellation will depend on the chosen contract type. For annual contracts, cancellation is possible at the end of each term, provided four weeks' notice is given before the term's conclusion. Please note that the relevant deadline and start of cancellation notification is Friday at 5 PM.

For monthly contracts, cancellation can occur at any time, also requiring four full school weeks' notice, the deadline being Friday 5pm. At the school’s discretion, our notice periods may be shortened in cases of hardship or if an extensive notice period poses a challenge.

For enrolments completed entirely online or over the phone, the Distance Selling Regulations apply. Our school fully complies with the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, granting a full refund of any fees paid if we receive a cancellation notification within 14 days of the course purchase. Please note, however, that cancellation of a payment plan or recurring payments does not exempt you from your obligation to pay all fees in full. Should financial hardship arise, we advise students to contact the school directly. Failure to make payment or the intention not to pay fees constitutes a breach of our terms of sale contract and may result in legal action. The school reserves the right to restrict access to classes until outstanding payments are made.
For private lessons, you may cancel up to 24 hours before the scheduled class time. If the cancellation window has passed, you cannot cancel the lesson but may reschedule it up to 6 hours in advance, subject to the teacher's discretion. A lesson that is rescheduled less than 24 hours before the original class cannot later be cancelled. This policy is in place to prevent circumvention of cancellation rules.

Cancellation of packages, gift certificates, and subscription services, such as private lesson packages, allows for a refund within 2 weeks of their purchase. Any aspect of a package already utilized (e.g., attended classes) will be deducted from the refund.

Section 4 - PAYMENTS
Payments can be made using credit or debit cards through Stripe, PayPal, bank transfer, or direct debit via GoCardless. Customers are advised to sign up to direct debit or auto-pay to avoid missing payments and incur late payment fees. Card and PayPal payments may incur an additional processing fee.

All payments must be completed at the time of purchase or prior to the commencement of any courses, unless a payment plan has been agreed. Monthly payment plans are considered credit terms and cannot be cancelled once initiated. Our annual contracts allow for the balance due after the deposit has been paid, to be split into up to 8 monthly payments, subject to a 3% surcharge. Monthly contracts allow for up to 10 payments, subject to an 8% surcharge. Payment contracts are separate from enrolment, which is always for the full academic year.

Late payment fees apply to all overdue payments. We recommend that customers set up a direct debit or auto-pay (debit & credit card) payments to avoid late payment fees. Late payments, once the invoice is flagged as overdue incur a 5% late payment fee and a £10 admin fee applied, weekly as invoices are chased. Failed direct debit payments also incur a bank charge on top of the admin fee, which is passed on to the customer, after the bank fee and admin charge is added to the invoice (but not the late payment fee), the direct debits are re-tried once, the 5% late payment charge is applied after the second failed payment as with all other payment methods. Direct debits are not re-tried again and customers need to arrange payment manually.

Section 5 - TEACHER ABSENCE AND ILLNESS
As with any educational institution, teachers may become ill or otherwise unavailable. In such cases, students will be informed via our Moodle platform on the site of the relevant class or through email notifications. Homeschool classes are not rescheduled unless more than three lessons are missed consecutively without a cover teacher.

In the case of teacher absence, there may be a cover teacher, a pre-recorded lesson or work set for the students. If a teacher's absence occurs last minute, a recording may be provided after the scheduled lesson time. While we try to arrange cover teachers where possible, this is not mandatory. Unlike face-to-face schools, students do not require physical supervision, so that a pre-recorded lesson and work is usually as effective as a non-subject expert teacher leading the lesson.

Private lessons are generally rescheduled in alignment with student availability, and students maintain the right to request a refund under the circumstance of teacher absence. You will be notified at least 24 hours in advance whenever possible.

Section 6 - LIVE LESSONS AND RECORDINGS
Live lessons are conducted through the Zoom platform. By participating in our services, you consent to the terms of Zoom’s use and agree to allow your child/dependent to be present in live lessons, which may be recorded. Participation involves audio and video engagement unless otherwise stated by the teacher. While audio participation is strongly encouraged, video visibility is typically optional unless specified.

Students are expected to adhere to the teacher’s instructions and are prohibited from engaging disruptively. Teachers have the authority to mute or remove any students who act inappropriately or do not comply with classroom guidelines.

Recordings are routinely made for homeschooling courses but are not generally available for private lessons or fixed-term courses unless specifically requested by students or parents. Participants agree not to copy, download, or otherwise retain any recordings unless granted prior written consent. Course materials used during lessons will be accessible separately through the Moodle platform and can be downloaded and retained by students.

Session 7 – SOCIAL MEDIA & MARKETING TERMS
The school reserves the right to use students work submitted or live lesson recordings on the platform for promotional purposes on social media and general marketing material. The school will make sure the student cannot be identified from the work. Where students submit pictures of themselves and students are visible on recordings, parents will specifically be asked for permission to post and have the right to decline and withdraw consent at any time.

Section 8 - ONLINE STORE TERMS
When you agree to these Terms of Service, you affirm that you are at least the age of majority in your state or province of residence and that you have consented to allow any of your minor dependents to use this website and related platforms.

You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate purchase and account information for all purchases made at our store. You agree to promptly update your account and other information, including your email address, credit card numbers, and expiration dates, so that we can complete your transactions and contact you as needed.

Section 14 - OPTIONAL TOOLS
We may provide you with access to third-party tools over which we neither monitor nor have any control nor input. It is up to you whether you choose to utilize these tools. You acknowledge and agree that we provide access to such tools “as is” and “as available” without any warranties, representations, or conditions of any kind and without any endorsement.

We will not have any liability whatsoever arising from or relating to your use of optional third-party tools. Any use by you of optional tools offered through the site is entirely at your own risk and discretion, and you should ensure that you are familiar with and approve the terms on which tools are provided by the relevant third-party provider(s).

We reserve the right to terminate your use of the Service or any related website for violating any of the prohibited uses.

Students are expected to upload assignments set by their teachers in a timely fashion and by established deadlines. It is not permissible for students to abuse the service by submitting assignments (or other documents, coursework, examination papers, etc.) that are not assigned by teachers. The school reserves the right to discontinue our service without a refund in such instances.

Furthermore, students may not use our websites as a means of online file storage or coursework storage. The school is not responsible for the online storage of student coursework. Only temporary digital copies of student coursework may be permitted on our websites for the purpose of teacher assessment and potentially for promotional purposes. Students are responsible for securely storing their own coursework externally.

Section 20 - DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES; LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
We do not guarantee, represent, or warrant that your use of our Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free. As with any business that relies on technology, interruptions are inevitable and do occur. We will strive to resolve any issues as quickly as possible.

We do not warrant that the results obtained from the use of our Service will be accurate or reliable. We do not supervise students while completing their homework and therefore cannot guarantee that any work submitted is wholly their own.

You agree that we may remove the service for indefinite periods of time or cancel the service at any time, without notice to you.

You expressly agree that your use of, or inability to use, the Service is at your sole risk. The Service and all products and services delivered to you through the Service are provided 'as is' and 'as available' for your use, without any representation, warranties, or conditions of any kind, either express or implied, including all implied warranties of merchantability, merchantable quality, fitness for a particular purpose, durability, title, and non-infringement.

Students (or their parents/guardians) are responsible for arranging any examinations applicable to our homeschooling classes. During the course of teaching practical subjects, teachers may assign tasks that involve creating art or design objects and conducting scientific experiments that involve potentially hazardous materials and tools. Parents/guardians are responsible for overseeing their children both online and offline to ensure their safety. Our teachers are all DBS checked and qualified in their subjects.

To safeguard against unwanted communication between adults (including other parents and staff) and children, we store only the email addresses and telephone numbers of adults unless you provide written consent for us to also store the child's information. It is your responsibility to monitor your children’s messages.

Children's email addresses or telephone numbers may only be used for account logins and automated system messages. Any important communications regarding school operations, substitute teachers, or other notices will be sent to your child via our monitored messaging system. By using our platform, you consent to teachers communicating with your children. Despite our monitoring efforts, we cannot guarantee complete safety online. Parents should actively monitor their children's communications to maintain safety. Parent accounts on our platforms will have access to their children’s communications.

Even with our comprehensive monitoring, we cannot entirely prevent the exchange of contact details among students nor eliminate the possibility of adult communication with minors. We continuously monitor all messages, and we will block any adult from contacting students without parental consent, as well as anyone sending offensive messages. There is a zero-tolerance policy concerning adults contacting students and unsocial behaviour. In instances of bullying from another student, a warning will be issued to the parents, and repeated offenses may lead to immediate expulsion.

It is expected that students enrol in courses with the belief that they will complete them successfully. Students should have previously studied the subject at a lower level. Teachers reserve the right to move students who are unprepared for the course content to a more suitable lower level following their professional judgment. Our primary goal is to assist students in progressing through their studies; attending a class unsuited to their level could be detrimental to their self-esteem and educational prospects. Students eligible for reassignment will not receive a refund if moved to a lower level. Students and parents will be contacted and given options in such cases. Should the student demonstrate progress to catch up promptly, they may remain in the original class at the teacher’s discretion.
In no event shall the school, its directors, officers, employees, affiliates, agents, contractors, interns, suppliers, service providers, or licensors be liable for any injury, loss, or claim, or any direct, indirect, incidental, punitive, special, or consequential damages of any kind, including without limitation lost profits, lost revenue, lost savings, loss of data, replacement costs, or any similar damages, whether based in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or otherwise, arising from your use of any of the services or any products procured using the services, or for any other claim related in any way to your use of the services or any product, including, but not limited to, any errors or omissions in any content, or any loss or damage of any kind incurred as a result of your use of the services or any content (or product) posted, transmitted, or otherwise made available via the services, even if advised of their possibility. Because some states or jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages, in such states or jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Section 21 - INDEMNIFICATION
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the school, along with our parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, partners, officers, directors, agents, contractors, licensors, service providers, subcontractors, suppliers, interns, and employees, from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, made by any third-party due to or arising out of your breach of these Terms of Service, your violation of any law, or the rights of a third-party.

Section 22 - SEVERABILITY
If any provision of these Terms of Service is found to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable, that provision shall nonetheless be enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, and the unenforceable portion shall be deemed to be severed from these Terms of Service. Such determination shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any other remaining provisions.

Section 23 - TERMINATION OF AGREEMENT
The obligations and liabilities of the parties incurred prior to the termination date shall survive the termination of this agreement for all purposes. These Terms of Service are effective unless and until terminated by either you or us. You may terminate these Terms of Service at any time by notifying us that you no longer wish to use our Services or when you cease using our site.

Should we determine, in our sole discretion, that you have failed or suspected that you have failed to comply with any term or provision of these Terms of Service, we may also terminate this agreement at any time without notice, and you will remain liable for all amounts due up to and including the date of termination; and/or accordingly deny you access to our Services (or any part thereof).

Section 24 - ENTIRE AGREEMENT
The failure of us to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms of Service does not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. These Terms of Service and any policies or operating rules posted by us on this site or regarding the Service constitute the entire agreement and understanding between you and us regarding your use of the Service, superseding any prior or contemporaneous agreements, communications, or proposals, whether oral or written, between you and us (including, but not limited to, any prior versions of the Terms of Service).

Any ambiguities in the interpretation of these Terms of Service shall not be construed against the drafting party.

Section 25 - GOVERNING LAW
These Terms of Service and any separate agreements whereby we provide you Services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with UK Law.
Section 26 - CHANGES TO TERMS OF SERVICE
You can review the most current version of the Terms of Service at any time on this page. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to update, change, or replace any part of these Terms of Service by posting updates and changes to our website. It is your responsibility to check our website periodically for changes. Your continued use of or access to our website or the Service following the posting of any changes to these Terms of Service constitutes acceptance of those changes.
